RN Supervisor

Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of RNs, LPNs and MA’s in our busy, outpatient clinics. The RN Supervisor will collaborate with the Practice Manager to manage patient flow, ensure adequate staffing levels to meet changing workload needs and monitor quality assurance activities. The RN Supervisor will lead the nursing staff in delivering optimal patient care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare unit for patient flow by organizing daily huddle
  • Perform patient triage - obtain/review vital signs, obtain chief complaint, performs problem-focused assessment and determines proper level of care (immediate access, urgent care, hospital, etc); Provides direct patient care as needed; acts as a patient advocate
  • Provides direct supervision to Nurses and Medical Assistants ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health; serves as key problem-solving resource for staff on patient issues
  • Ensures unit staff follow-up abnormal labs and imaging results
  • Provide health teaching and re-enforce instructions to patient from provider; administers treatment and assists provider with procedures
  • Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes; collects quality assurance data for performance improvement activities
  • Collaborates with Practice Manager on orienting/training, and evaluating nursing staff
  • Enforces safety measures, maintains hand hygiene and all infection control practices; takes corrective action as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Baccalaureate degree in nursing or health administration preferred; The successful candidate will have at least three (3) years clinical nursing experience in an outpatient clinic; at least one (1) year Supervisory-level experience;. NYS RN license and CPR certification required; Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.
