TAPCO Art Contest
- Date Posted: Jul 13, 2017
June 27th, 2017, we attended an assembly organized by TAPCO’s Student Government team to celebrate the culture and diversity of the student body which also showcased their artistic talents. The School Health Program was invited to present the winners of the Morris Heights School Based Health Center Art Contest with a Certificate of Participation and showcase their professionally framed art work which will adorn the walls of the newly constructed TAPCO Clinic set to open this summer.
The Art contest was sponsored by a special NYC health department grant given to support marketing efforts for this school. The grand prize winner, Rossangel Francisco, and the runner up, Tyla Dowery, were each awarded certificates of participation and Modell’s gift cards. Additionally, an announcement poster was distributed to the school community and placed on the school website. Rossangel Francisco and Tyla Dowery also showed off their dancing talents, performing a salsa routine together with two other male TAPCO students. Tyla Dowery, also blessed the audience with a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. The School Based Health Program is honored to celebrate these students, as they so beautifully continue to express their diversity through different genres of art.
